Energy Efficiency & Retrofit

There are numerous benefits to improving the energy efficiency of your home or property using retrofit strategies and measures. Improvements can be made – often at a relatively low cost – which can substantially enhance the comfort of the building, along with providing significant savings on energy bills.

Successful retrofit must take into account construction type, aspect and environmental conditions, whilst ensuring the building’s character and heritage value aren’t compromised. For the vast majority of listed buildings and those of traditional construction, a careful balance needs to be achieved, and we’re here to help.

All too often, incorrectly specified retrofit leads to internal damp and condensation, which can be very costly to rectify.

Janus Conservation is a proud affiliate member of the Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance and has undertaken specialist training to ensure that we are able to design and implement energy efficiency upgrades to traditionally constructed buildings.

Our team members include RICS and CIOB conservation-accredited professionals who also hold the Level 3 award in Energy Efficiency for Older and Traditional Buildings, making us one of only a handful of companies who can act as retrofit designers under pathways B and C (higher risk) of BSI PAS 2035: Specification for the energy retrofit of domestic buildings.
