Conservation Architecture and Design
Our Architectural Process

Design in the historic context, especially when dealing with listed and protected assets can be one of the most challenging aspects of conservation, and one of the easiest to get wrong.
At Janus Conservation we listen to both the client and – often as important – the building, by using our conservation knowledge to research its history and define what makes it special.
This allows our RIBA accredited architect to create breath-taking designs for extensions and refurbishments which not only meet the desired brief, but also have architectural rhythm with the most interesting aspects of the building’s history.
This approach, which leans on the past to inform the future also ensures that our designs achieve, and often surpass, the requirements of listed building consent.
With the roots of the company being firmly in the specification of technically appropriate materials and techniques, along with our strong environmental values and high-level customer service, you can be sure that Janus have the skills and expertise required for your project.
